How I Quilted Cottage Diamonds
I love to mix straight lines with some free-motion quilting, so simple outline quilting and a pretty stencil would be all it needed. I put a walking foot on my machine and did a 1/4 inch outline quilting first going diagonal across the runner to add emphasis to the light and dark diamonds created. Then I switched to a free-motion (darning) foot and marked this sweet Interlocking Hearts Quilt Stencil on each diamond block.
Quilting Tip – Measure the stencil first to find the center point and mark the stencil with a pen or pencil so it’s quicker to align the stencil on the blocks. 😉
It may seem like a lot of quilting but it went fast and was so easy. I absolutely love it and I’ll be using this stencil again. I love making things that are beautiful and easy!
